Ty Foren was a young technician at Allen Bradley that worked with Bill.

I am saddened to learn about Bill, yet appreciate your keeping us connected.

I'd merely want to share a fond memories of the two sides of Bill I recall; while a thought leader in software and systems development he gifts were complemented by the balance of his always performing ad-hoc Magic/humor at parties the gang copied above attended. We have warm memories of the generosity of the Keeleys' and Schofields', for those times we gathered as a group. We also fondly remembered our evening walks in New Berlin and often seeing the Cartwrights' and family when they lived merely ten houses away in New Berlin.

To Eloise, know that our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Clearly, you will miss Bill, your loved one.  Blessing to you for your continued strength and for your family to joyously reflect and focus on the positive aspects and influences your missing loved one bestowed upon each of you ~ in word, in shared moments or just memories rekindled during memorial services this special time of reflection.

Forrest Blair was a young software engineer that worked with Bill in Orlando.

Thanks for the note.  I’ve wondered about Bill.  It sounds like his diabetes led to the amputation, etc.  He taught me Basic programming and started me on a long software journey.

Thanks,
Forrest

Gary Schettler was an RF Engineer that worked with Bill when they started the Intelligent Sensing business at Allen-Bradley.

I'm sorry to hear that Bill has died.  He was a very bright and interesting guy that had quite an interesting career and life.

Rick Peck was a software engineer that worked with us in GE Robotics in Orlando.

I very sorry to hear about Bill's passing.  I always liked him - he was a character, to be sure.  His stories of his past lives always were interesting, and he was a good programmer, someone I certainly learned from in my rookie days down in Orlando.  I know you remained close to him - I'm sorry to hear he's gone.

Bill Strangeway was a young engineer that Bill mentored in Allen-Bradley.  I think Bill S visited Bill C and Eloise in Florida after he retired.

Thank you for letting me know about Bill's passing.   He was a person who helped me and many, many others grow in the SW profession.

I'll pass the word along to some RA people today.

Paul Buda was an engineer with GE and he worked with Bill in Charlottesville and in Orlando (Plymoth) in robotics.

I have many fond memories of Bill, who was a mentor and great friend to many.  In particular, we were each other's 'sanity check' during the dark days in Charlottesville.

Paul

Bob Pingle was a young software engineer that started to work with us at Allen-Bradley.  Bill mentored him and helped him get started.  I think his parents ran a restaurant that Bill and Eloise frequented in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Thanks for letting me know.  My parents have been in contact with Eloise quite a bit over the last few weeks.

We will all miss Bill...

Thanks,
Bob

Jim Rosner was an application engineer for Allen-Bradley.  He took a number of the products that Bill worked on to customers in the field (bar code, RFID, communications interfaces).

Thank you for letting me know. I still think about you and Bill. I thoroughly enjoyed working for and with both of you. I’m truly sorry to hear about Bill’s illness and death. He was truly one of those good guys – both very intelligent and a really nice guy at the same time.

Jim Rosner

Dear Mitzi,

Thank you very much for your note. I knew Bill from Charlottesville when we worked together at GE. Bill was a great friend and a mentor to me. I spent a lot of time with him in Charlottesville, and enjoyed his intellect and sense of humor immensely. I kept in touch with him over the years, and was aware of his illness and passing away. I last spoke with him in early June. I had called on his birthday (June 19), and also spoke with Eloise. I recall meeting you in Charlottesville, you probably do not remember me. Bill spoke highly of both you and Tina. My deepest condolences to you and the family, this is indeed a great loss. I thought the world of him, and will definitely miss him.

I will be glad to contribute to his website, and will let others know that you are creating this website for him. It will be a good way to remember him since he had such deep insight and talent for anything to do with computers and software.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do.

Sincerely,
Sujeet Chand

Bill was my friend. We worked together in Charlottesville and Orlando for GE. He taught my wife (Helena) to program years earlier in Daytona. He was part of our wedding party in Orlando. He and Eloise came north to work with me in Milwaukee. We kept in touch after he retired and communicated often. Bill was my friend.
